3D TV Mainstream Technology
Watching 3D TV at home could become mainstream in less than two years, since the prices of 3D TV sets have dropped and events like the soccer World Cup has raised awareness of this technology. Although many of them believe that consumers would never like to wear 3D glasses at home, and that 3D TVs have been on sale only for few months; a lot of factors point towards the fact that 3D technology will be adopted faster than any other previous technologies.
Europe’s second biggest electronics retailer, DSG has stated that TV sales increased by 50% a year as the soccer World Cup finals neared in South Africa. This has surely created a lot of buzz about the 3D technology. Although it is in the early adoption stages, the upward graph of sales of 3D TVs has made DSG very confident about 3D sales. The 3D technology and implementation are still not perfect, but the 3D TV phenomenon is getting a taste of life in the fast lane.
