3D TV Movies and Channels
DreamWorks Animation is proud to offer the world’s first ever HD 3D movie titles to the consumer market by converting “Monsters vs. Aliens” to a 3D TV format. The “Shrek” trilogy is the next movie to be converted to 3D TV format.
Walt Disney’s ESPN has successfully tested the 3D broadcast of a college football game and intends to broadcast 2010 Football World Cup as 3D on TV. The 3D ESPN channel is expected to launch in June 2010 and will show about 85 events in the first year. Discovery Channel, Sony and the IMAX theater chain are teaming up for another 3D channel set to launch in 2011. 25 matches of FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa are expected to be transmitted in 3D. Other networks are also going to 3D, which means much more 3D Television content will be available soon.
