3D TV Take-Off
Generally new consumer technology is considered to reach a take-off point when 20% of the population owns it. The experts believe that 3D TV will gain popularity when it will not longer be needed to wear 3D glasses, which is anticipated to happen sometime after 2015.
Although chipmaker Intel demonstrated a version of 3D without glasses at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, it has limitations and can only be viewed from certain angles. This is more likely to be feasible for screens watched by a single viewer, like computer and mobile phone displays. But a few experts believe that not wearing glasses could strain the eyes more than wearing glasses.
